Here’s another Nwingland gambling parlor we visited in the 1980s that is no more. Instructive and entertaining to listen to the entire rant.

Racetracks we visited that are now closed (besides Suffolk): Liberty Bell (chariots), Brandywine (chariots), Garden State (redux; both), Jefferson Downs, original Fair Grounds, Hollywood Park, Prescott, probably some others we missed.

Never made it to Birmingham Race Course. Or Bowie. Or Balmoral Thoroughbreds or Beulah or River. Or Narragansett or Commodore Downs or Sportsman’s or Rockingham. Certainly some others we missed.

Three selected Laurel races yesterday. Six win-overlay wagers in those, but only a 6-1 runner-up and a 75-1 third-place effort (in the same race) to lean on for moral support. Oh, well.
