Bryce? No…RHYS! (N.B. We know that is not supposed to rhyme. Thank you!)

Aaron Nola in front, in hand and in command for the Phightin’ Phils. Also, La-La Land Los Doyers hit EIGHT HR on Opening Day, none by Yasiel Puig, who went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in his first game as a…Cincinnatuh Red.

As well, thank you to Scott Franzke & Larrie Anderson for their always-entertaining patter, à la Harrie & Whitie. Throwback baseball radio announcing, not awash in analytics or droning stories about each player’s entire life history etc. Thank you for keeping the tradition alive, Franzke & Anderson. This may be sacrilegious, but we enjoy Franzke & Anderson more than we ever did Vince Cullie, who, it seemed, never stopped talking, even when the game was on television. This does not mean we did not appreciate Vince Cullie every now and again; it simply means we like Franzke & Anderson more. Now…let the hate-mail flood in!

Yesterday:

Golden Gate 2
#1 Nutty Sierra ($25.20, BestLine Fair Odds 6.75-1)

Gulf 4
#1 Warrior Empress ($27.80, BestLine Fair Odds 5.85-1)

Gulf 10
#3 Lady’s Island ($25.20, BestLine Fair Odds 2.94-1)

Gulf 2 (Low-Priced Overlay of the Day)
#5 Leaky Cup ($10.20, BestLine Fair Odds 1.45-1)

Gulf 5, 7 & 10 were isolated for their contentious playability (playability?). Two overlays in the fifth, two in the seventh (including the 8-1 runner-up) and three in the 10th (including the 11½-1 winner). Yay.
