The nice thing about racing is that you’re rarely more than 12 hours away from a chance at redemption or else further Carl Edwards Jr.-Burt Hooton-type futility. We’ve seen it both ways. Show up, suit up, discover by doing. It’s a neverending challenge to feel good about one’s self without the assistance of knocking somebody else down in the process.
