DodgerStadiumDailyDouble from Steven Unite on Vimeo.

Did you know that at Dodger Stadium, when the home side registers a 2-base hit, the promotional tie-in is ‘DAILY DOUBLE PRESENTED BY JEOPARDY!’, complete with the sound-effect? You could look it up!

Last night, Los Doyers were down 3-1 in the bottom of the 6th. The bases were loaded for last year’s N.L. Rookie of the Year, Corey Seager, who lashed a clean base hit into right-center. Two runs scored, and Yasiel Puig (same guy behind the ‘Puig your friend’ phenomenon) stopped at third. Seager then bamboozled the hapless S.D. Padres into a difficult rundown play by getting caught between first and second. Puig, already known for his considerable physical gifts, read Seager’s cerebral cue perfectly, dashing home and beating the throw. That gave La-La Land the lead, 4-3, which was later padded via solo HR from Cody Bellinger, his 34th HR of the season, and Chris Taylor. Los Doyers won, 6-3, and moved to 82-34 on the season, good enough for .707 béisbol. Hoo-boy.

N.B. OPS numbers for batters 1-4 in the Doyers lineup are ridiculous.

Add N.B. Also ‘UNITE THE INCORRECT’. Have fun and bend your brain by reading that on many different levels. Möbius!
