DD8…The Ladies Love Him

Thrilling game last night at the arena. Los Doyers debacle shown on the scoreboards prior to the warmups. After that, La-La Land Big-League Ice Hockey skated to a 3-nil lead, which Vancouver chipped away at for the better part of two periods, finally drawing level with 35 secs. left in regulation. Overtime decided nothing, and Tanner Pearson and Peter Budaj were the stars for La-La Land in the shootout. Final score: La-La Land 4, Vancouver/Nootka Island 3. Mistah Drew Doughty here was the game’s Third Star.

Belmont (2/0) — Blueshirt Rangers beat host Wash., D.C., 4-2; Jimmy Vesey scored twice for Nueva Jork.

Calder (1/1) — Mutaka had a good 86 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis for High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads in a contentious Race 8; he rallied hard to win by 3¼ at $25-even. Good work.

Chas. Town (0/0) — Apple Harvest Parade takes over downtown Martinsburg.

Delta (2/1) — The opener was contentious, and High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads a strong 87 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis on Ty’s Bandit, who raced tail-to-wire anyway to win by a clean half-length at $45.20. Good work.

Finger (3/0) — Voter registration jumps in Ontario Co.

Golden Gate (1/0) — Visiting Sharks blanked by Detroit, 3-nil; Joe Pavelski had 4 shots and 4 PIM for San Jose.

Hawthorne (1/1) — Dual Qualifier Deliberate Haste (83, 81) was a play for High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads in a noncontentious Race 4; however, he had to rally like the champion he’s on his way to becoming, winning by a clean neck at $52-straight. Good work.

Keeneland (1/0) — UK hoopball clinic has largest turnout yet.

Los Alamitos (1/1) &mdash: Race 2 was contentious, and High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads had a bland-but-sufficient 83 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis on Dance the Waltz, who hoofed into the winner’s circle gate-to-wire to win by 1 at $127.40. Good work.

Laurel (3/0) — See Belmont commentary.

Mountain (2/1) — A contentious Race 2 was satisfying for all players as Majestic Touch, Fair Odds of 6-1 and a good 84 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis, was a stalking-horse throughout before winning by 3½ at $21.60. Good work.

Northlands (2/2) — Much joy for the fans in the stakes races. In the sixth, Can’t Use Nellie was top of the V6 Betting Line at Fair Odds of 2½-1, plus was a Dual Qualifier (98, 92); she raced reasonably in-touch before winning by 1¼ at $21.70. In Race 9, same scenario applied to Trooper John (3-1, Dual Qualifier 70, 71) (!), who raced mane-to-wire to win by 8½ at $23.30. Good work.

PennNat (2/1) — Race 8 was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads had a Dual Qualifier to consider in Happy Indeed (87, 91); he had to rally, though, before taking over at the furlong-grounds to win by 2 at $43.20. Good work.

Keystone (0/0) — Host Flyers double-up on Carolina, 6-3; Jakub Voracek had 2 goals an an assist for Philalala.

Retama (0/0) — 2 motorcyclists hurt in crash with car on the Northwest Side.

Thistle (0/0) — Geo. Voinovich Bridge to open completely starting Monday.

Turf Paradise (0/0) — Car lands on its rooftop after crashing into ravine.

Woodbine (1/0) — Maple Leafs edged by Chicagoland in shootout, 5-4; William Nylander had 2 goals for Toronto.
