Since 1984

The current season of America’s Favourite Quiz Programme began earlier this week. As The World Turns to face fully its Post-Truth/Post-Fact reality, Jeopardy! stands as a stubborn beacon, a Guiding Light of Decorum, Taste & Good Breeding. Thank you.

Gary Johnson, no good, Johnny Gilbert, no good. If The Libertarian had spent a little less time reading Alisa Rosenbaum and more time investigating the Better Russian named Vlad Nabokov, he would have known that the latter had a fine short story called ‘ “That in Aleppo Once…” ’. And he would have known right there.

Free ones: Rundown…

Belmont 4, 5, 7, 10
Gulfstream Park Proper 4, 7, 10, 11, 12
Los Alamitos Thoroughbreds 1

Pay-side (Weekend/Weekday): Today…

Arlington 1, 8
Belterra 3, 6, 7
Churchill 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 11
Delpark 2, 4, 6, 8
Golden Gate 2, 7, 8, 9
Louisiana 2, 3, 4, 7
Laurel 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 9
Monmouth 8
Retama 1, 4
Remington 4, 5, 6, 7, 9
Woodbine 1, 4, 5, 6, 11

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Churchill 9, Woodbine 4 on the pay-side.

Singling-out #1 Bling On the Music in Churchill 10.

Big evening in store for your Chas. Town Races. Race 2 has #3 Start Line looking OK. Wild-open in Race 7 there, wild-open, and #9 Help a Brother and #3 Montague Bay have longshot hopes. Ditto #1 Navy Ribbon and #6 Jacky’s Notion in the next race there. #3 Kluvyabye can provide a cheap thrill toward the front for a few strides of Race 10. #3 Mia Torri can outrun her forecast long odds in the 11th.

Also added-money-heavy at Northlands today, and #4 Our Dandy’s Boy seems best in Race 4. In Race 6, we bypass the morning-line choice and go instead with #2 Smart Fix, #6 Ginger Smash, #1 Smile Again Theta. Longshot-fave pairing of #2 Manor Lane and #6 For Cash in Race 11. However, the obvious #3 Norm’s Big Bucks stands out in the 12th.

It’s a turf-sprint in Keystone 8, but the fave #1 Delta Bluesman appears legit. Regrets!

#2 Dacita should be fine in Woodbine 8. Likewise #8 Tepin in Race 12.

Yesterday’s Activity: This segment will resume on Oct. 1, 2016. Thank you for your eternal forebearance.
