This video always is a good one to retrieve to start the weekend, especially on the cusp of spring.

‘Walter Lippmann, he would be amazed…’

Free ones: Rundown…

Gulfstream Park Proper 9, 10
Santa Anita 2, 4, 5, 7, 9

Pay-side (Weekend/Weekday): Today…

Fair Grounds 3, 4, 6
Golden Gate 4, 5
Hawthorne 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Laurel 7, 8
Oaklawn 2, 4, 7, 9
Tampa 6, 9, 10
Turfway 2, 3, 4, 7, 9

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Tiptoeing around the morning-line fave in Santa Anita 8, going instead with #2 Boldly True, #3 Toews On Ice.

Over to Delta 8 now, and #7 Lunar Gaze seems at no great disadvantage to the others in a wild-open race. Wild-open.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Aqueduct (0/0) — Jankees, O’s tie in Grapefruit League clash at Sarasota; Metropolitans beat Cardinals at Port St. Lucie.

Chas. Town (2/1) — Short Hill Kit Kat somehow had exactly 18 characters (including spaces) in its name, won the second at a similarly long 18-1 ($38.40). The race was contentious, and Short Hill Kit Kat (what a great name, if only because it’s not all compressed into one string; thank you!) had a fine 92 in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis.

Delta (1/½) — Contentious race, Race 3, and Pick On Me had no backing LifeLiner Speed or Spread Column analysis numbers; however, the wide-open conventional V6 Betting Line put him at Fair Odds of 6-1, and Pick On Me did OK, winning at $24-even. Half a get for the Old School Playas.

Fair Grounds (1/½) — Same scenario as at Delta, except in a noncontentious race: Fair Odds of 6-1 on Custom Made Ready, your winner in the opener at $32.20. Also winning in an upset was Tulane men’s hoopball in the Opening Round of The American Athleta ic Conference tourney. Next up for the Green Wave, a Death March into Paws of The Mighty Cougars of Houston (22-8). We who are about to die, salute you.

Golden Gate (1/0) — Sharks get shut out at home, 3-nil, to Devils; Keith Kinkaid stopped all 30 shots he faced.

Gulf (3/0) — Panthers maul visiting Senators, 6-2; the imortal Jaro Jagr scored twice for the winners.

PennNat (0/0) — Philanova advances to Big East semifinal in men’s hoopball, defeating Geo.town 81-67; next up for the Wildcats: Providence.

Santa Anita (0/0) — Visiting Cavs defeat Jakers, 120-108; Koobay Brian says goodbye to LeBron by scoring 26 pts.
