Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Aqueduct (0/0) — Blueshirt Rangers double-up on Wild at Garden, 4-2.

Chas. Town (3/½) — None of the three upsetters had anything going for them in the LifeLiner realm. But in Race 2, a contentious affair, Fairbanks Miss was a fourth-choice on the standard Betting Line, Fair Odds of 5-1; her actual odds were 17-1, good for a win payoff of $36.60. Old-school players and high-octane chancers with a broad worldview would have had it. As for ourselves, half a get, half a get, half a get onward.

Delta (2/0) — Five days of parades remaining, with Friday’s Uptown schedule including the Mystic Krewes of Hermes, d’Etat and Morpheus. Sweet dreams!

Golden Gate (0/0) — Hyper BowL comin at ya in approx. 51 hrs. from press-time here. Kennie ‘The Snake’ Stabler, latest confirmed CTE victim, played in Hyper Bowl XI and won it.

Gulf (0/0) — Panthers continue hot streak, defeat Red Wings, 6-3.

Oaklawn (1/0) — The upset winner was Flin Flon, in Race 7. As all good hockey fans know, Flin Flon is a town situated on the border between the Canadian provinces of Manitoba and Saskatchewan; moreover, as all good Philadelphia Flyers fans know, Flin Flon is the hometown of that franchise’s greatest player, Bobby Clarke.

PennNat (3/2) — This was the track. Race 7 was elusive, but the two before that — in most systems of race-counting, namely Races 5 & 6 — were not hard for high-octane chancers. A Lil More A J won the former at $22.20. Without Fair Odds on the Betting Line in a noncontentious race, ’A J was nonetheless one of only two LifeLiner Speed Column analysis qualifiers (92 there). Race 6 saw Wise Guide blow up the toteboard at $86.20. This was actually the easier of the two gettable surprises. How come? The race was impossibly contentious: four (count ’em!) horses received Fair Odds of 4½-1 on the Betting Line, with a fifth set at Fair Odds of 6-1. No, Wise Guide was not among this quintet; however, Wise Guide was a Dual Qualifier (87, 85), and was blinking at a blinding 42-1 among the win-odds. No high-octane chancers needed for this Race 6; a foot-powered unicycle would have been sufficient.

Santa Anita (0/0) — Kooby Brian goes for 27 in Jaker victory over N.O.

Turfway (0/0) — Good to see Thursday-night racing again in Florence, Ky.
