A laugh a minute

Christy Christy and Buhnny Syanduhs finalize their two-party Presidential ticket on The King of Queens, nightly on TVLand.

Sturdy comedy show, no pretense, no angst, no hipness. A throwback to the ALF television programme. You go ahead with your It’s Always Younger in Reno 911 and that sort of high-intellect poseur show, the kind of which Dr. Howard Sartinez, Ph.D. would approve. We will stick with King of Queens and the ALF television programme.

Free ones: Rundown…

Gulfstream Park Proper 5, 7, 8, 9, 11

Pay-side (Weekday/Weekend): Today…

Mahoning 5, 7, 8
Tampa 7, 8, 10
Turf Paradise 1, 4, 5, 7

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None today, but it’s Buhnny Syanduhs against Slick Hillary in the Demo Town Hall, or something like that.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Chas. Town (0/0) — Good movie set in W. Va.: Matewan.

Sam Houston (0/0) — Good movie set in Houston: Reality Bites.

Mahoning (1/1) — Dual Qualifying O’Bannon Boy took the opener at $23-even. Tout not forthcoming for a couple of reasons: late-rising hours for Boys In The Backroom, plus the presence of a strong top pick on the conventional Betting Line. High-octane chancers would have had it, certainly.

Portland (1/0) — Good movie set in Portland, Ore.: Drugstore Cowboy, dir. by Gus Van Sant. (Cf. song ‘Range Life’ by Pavement.)

Turf Paradise (1/0) — Good movie set in Phoenix: Psycho (!). (Hon. mention: The Grifters, with Turf Paradise standing in for the fictional ‘LaJolla Downs’.)

WMF Report:

Early
Delta 6½f
Mahoning 6f
Tampa 6f

Nocturnal Submission: Sifting through the wreckage…

Thank you. Best wishes. Goodbye. Bye-bye.
