Pregame skate

JVR was off the scoresheet last night, and Bernier, having shut out the Ducks the night before, was rested.

Free ones: Rundown….

Aqueduct 9
Gulfstream Park Proper 5, 6, 8, 9
Santa Anita 1, 6

Pay-side (Weekend/Weekday): Today…

Fair Grounds 4, 5
Golden Gate 5, 7
Laurel 8, 9
Tampa 6, 8
Turfway 1, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Insane Bonkers Box cold-punching in Delta 8: #8 Figuresitsacat, #7 Angelita. Insane.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track/(Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Aqueduct (0/0) — Where’s Kristaps Porzingis when you need him?

Chas. Town (0/0) — Games of chance also available on the grounds.

Delta (2/0): — Alvin Gentry not happy with Pelicans, either.

Fair Grounds (0/0) — See Delta commentary.

Golden Gate (0/0) — Same fate as the one suffered by the public-utility taxi service in the City of San Francisco.

Gulf (4/3) — Sorry, but the $78-number in the finale was the biggest mutuel on the card and it was not gettable. Otherwise, Race 5 had Lakota Warrior doing OK via the co-highest LifeLiner Spread Column analysis in the field; because his morning line was lower than 8-1, he was not touted publicly. Regrets! Race 7 was Cowigrl Tough’s turn at $22.60, and it was a late posting-time that did her in; maybe she gets touted, maybe not. The morning line and LifeLiner Speed and LifeLiner Spread all lined up for her, but the old-timey contentious/noncontentious Betting Line dynamic might have skeered us away. Too much psychological torture. Hard to say. However, Race 8 was a public tout up top, $37.40 for Tela, all systems go on LifeLiner Speed in a classically contentious affair.

PennNat (3/0) — No good, Kathleen Kane, no good.

Santa Anita (2/½) — The Race 5 winner had no LifeLiner bona fides; however, the classical contentious-race V6 Betting Line put him at 6-1, so, like that, a textbook overlay; we were unmoved. Race 8 was Honourable Mention Bonkers-touted I’m No Patsy, loser by a dirty nose at 17-1! Boo, hiss! The winner escaped too. Apologies.

Turfway (2/2) — Both touted on the pay-side. Hallelujah. Allahu akbar.

WMF Report:

Early
Chas. Town 4½f, 6½f
Gulf 6f
Turfway 6f

Nocturnal Submission: Sifting through the wreckage…

Thank you. Best wishes. Goodbye. Later!
