It’s a marathon, not a…

WOMAN: ‘I’ve been on more diets than Arcaro has horses. But somehow I always manage to get thrown before the finish line’.

As always, thanks to the immortal Rod Serling & Co. for the timeless material.

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 4, 6, 7, 9
Gulfstream Park Proper 5, 6, 7
Santa Anita 5, 7, 9

Pay-side (Weekend/Weekday): Today…

Fair Grounds 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10
Golden Gate 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Hawthorne 4, 6, 7
Laurel 5, 6, 9
Mahoning 5, 6, 8
Tampa 4, 6, 7, 10
Turfway 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Turf Paradise 6, 7, 8

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Gulfstream 5, 7 on the free page. Pay-side has Fair Grounds 6, Turfway 4.

The obvious #3 Awesome Speed appears certain to run that billing in Gulf 10. In a similar prohibitive role is #8 Miss Mischief in Laurel 8.

Tiptoeing around the morning-line fave in Santa Anita 6, siding with #7 Salutos Amigos and #3 Distinctiv Passion instead. But in the eighth there, #8 Obviously should live up to his name.

Sunland 9 looks like a scramble-and-a-half, and #4 Cassy Sue and #1 Cat Trap don’t seem that farfetched now.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Aqueduct (0/0)

Delta (0/0)

Fair Grounds (1/1) — Sufficient LifeLiner Speed Column analysis number (85); not touted due to arbitrary (make-believe?) contentious/noncontentious guidelines.

Golden Gate (2/1) — Successful tout in opener; top LifeLiner AND Spread Column analysis numbers (84, 91). Nightcap surprise not feasible via existing requirements.

Gulfstream (1/0) — No supporting numbers, but race WAS classically contentious with the winner emerging second-best on the standard Betting Line; too slavishly dependent on LifeLiner sometimes? Yes, of course; undoubtedly.

Hawthorne (0/0)

Laurel (0/0)

Santa Anita (2/0) — Bad misses in first 2 races. Ridiculous.

Sunland (0/0)

Tampa (0/0)

Turfway (3/1) — Opener eminently playable, dually qualified on LifeLiner and Spread, plus second-best on Betting Line; only fear might have been one of playing against seemingly strong top Betting Line issue (Fair Odds 2-1 against next-best 6-1). Second-race shocker unattainable. Ditto finale of FTS without any kind of connection-line numbers.

WMF Report:

Early
Gulfstream 6f
Hawthorne 6f
Mahoning 6f
Tampa 6f
Turfway 6f

Nocturnal Submission: Night off…

Thank you. Best wishes. Goodbye. Next time!
