brooksbrosseersucker

B2 #1 alwayszzz!!!!!!!11

All right, all right, ya Dapper Dansz and Beau Brummelsz! Take it easy! Got a Google+ (what’s that?) reminder from the Brooks Bros. that it’s time to get the Derby wardrobe in order. Their recommendations are pictured here. Natty!

ACCEPT NO SUBSTITUTESz! Do NOT go to the dark side to buy shmatas from overpriced and pale imitators, especially those itchy-palmed opportunists who clean-up their real names and then adopt a persona out of Montana instead of their native Bronx. Ugh. Stay away, stay away, stay away. For the authentic trad look since 1818, there’s only one…Brooks Bros. Kindly retain a proper and healthful mistrust of co-optersz and other unsavory appropriators. Tyvm.

As well, it is good to see the seersucker suit maintaining its full and voluptuous cut here. Too much Euro slim-fitting going on these days. The proper shape of these residential-school-type clothes is sacklike and boxy, from blue blazers to poplin suits to seersuckers.

However, the beret here looks a little precious. Certainly if it was time for Swampatoga, the classic straw-boater with the grosgrain ribbon around the crown would be in perfect order.

There you go. Now you too can look like you attended Lawrenceville or Episcopal or Pencey Prep before you got expelled for smoking or drinking or, most disgraceful of all, reading handicapping books after lights-out. Just stay with the originators and the genuine; that is, keep faith with the Brooks Bros. Tyvm.

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 3, 7
Gulfstream Park Proper 1, 5, 7, 9, 10
Santa Anita 1, 3, 6, 7, 9

Pay-side (Weekend/Weekday): Today…

Golden Gate 7
Hawthorne 6, 8, 10
Keeneland 5, 7, 8, 9
Lone Star 1, 6, 7, 8, 9
Pimlico 1, 5, 8, 10
Tampa 6, 9, 10
Turf Paradise 7
Woodbine 4, 7, 8, 9

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Santa Anita 7 on the free page.

On the pay-side it’s Keeneland 9, Pimlico 8, 10, Woodbine 8.

Exciting four-horse field on tap for Aqueduct 2, and #2 Mamdooha is an original-formula Triple Threat Horsey. An overflow six-runner lineup goes in the fifth there, with #3 Made in Detroit as your longest shot on the morning line — and as your Quadruple Qualifying Horsey. Hoo-boy.

Another old-style Triple Threat Horsey comes in Santa Anita 4: #8 Ride Hard Kowboy.

A Quintuple Qualifier goes in Hawthorne 9: #6 Whiskey Ticket. We’ll see.

Expecting the fave-with-third-morning-line-choice hookup between #7 Lady Shipman and #3 Streamsong to do OK. That’s in Pimlico 6.

Mahoning! Race 7! Three wild stabs: #3 Seeking a Mile, #7 Rollin Away Baby, #5 Boot Legger.

All right, all right, ya Chas. Town fansz! Relax! We did not forget yourselvesz. However, do wake up early for these, since first-post is set for 12:45 p.m. EDT, 9:45 a.m. PDT. In the opener, #2 Hear the Chatter is a Quintuple Qualifier. Race 3 has the conventional Triple Threat Horsey #6 Gold for Cash. Quadruple Qualifier and local hero #7 Down Town Allen is in Race 5. Wild-open in the 10th, wild-open; #4 One More Time and #2 Estimated Prophet can outrun their forecast long odds. Longshot Tonie Reaumeau #4 Dallas Cowgirl has an outside chance in the 11th; Tejas! Finally, the obvious horsey in Race 12 is not a Quintuple Qualifier but a mere single-top runner (first in the standard V6 Betting Line only!); #7 General a Rod and #8 Warrioroftheroses (!) get the first nods for the upset now. Have a take for the Smack-Off!

Yesterday’s Activity: As he has a few times before, this guy showed some excitement for your Friday…
