First Post: Friday, April 3, 2015

This is it. This is the one. This is Good Friday through the spellbinding psychedelic sonic psychosis of the greatest group of the post-punk era. This is as raw and unsettling as any of the best avant-garde you can think of. This, brothersz and sistersz, is Thorn of Crowns. Listen.

Surely one Mistah Mel C.-C. G. Gibson had this song playing on a continuous loop throughout the filming of his motion picture called The Passion of The Christ. Surely. As well, joyous Pesach to the Hebrewsz. Good shabbos. Shabbat shalom. Good yontiff. Eli, eli, lama sabachthani?

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 6, 9
Gulfstream Park Proper 5, 6, 8, 9
Santa Anita 5

Pay-side (Weekend/Weekday): Today…

Golden Gate 3, 5
Keeneland 6, 9, 10
Oaklawn 1, 2, 4, 9
Pimlico 2, 3, 8
Sunland 7, 9, 10
Tampa 5, 6, 8, 10

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: All right, all right, ya Bela Lugosi-loversz! Take it easy! Keeneland (!) 9 is the Transylvania, and it’s on the pay-side. Man, that Lexington must be the Center of the Universe right about now, what with the race-meet plus the hoopball going 40-0. Hope they don’t take us to court (court of law, that is) for using that particular construction…40-0.

Yesterday’s Activity: Lots of close calls yesterday, like Simona Halep taking Verena Wmsz. to three sets, like 17-1 Second Bonkersmate Mr. Cartagena in the finale at Santer Aniter, like 34-1 Bonkersmate S C Redslegacy in Oaklawn 5, like 11-1 single Just a Trick in Chas. Town 4. At least in the middle two instances, the winners were LifeLiner Speed Column analysis qualifiers, and the saver perfectorsz returned $408-even and $208.80, respectively.

N.B. Why not the straight-up tout in Santa Anita 8 of the winning Miraglo at $37.80? After all, Miraglo had the top LifeLiner Speed Column analysis number in the field. True that, Judas. True that. However, the morning line on the great Miraglo was a short 6-1, and our touting starts at morning-line odds of 8-1. Sorry, race fansz! Sorry, Barabbas! After sundown, the stories will revolve around lintels and murrain — and smiting Egyptians! Lots of them! Nice stuff, celebrating the ancient smiting of lots and lots of the Egyptiansz. Nice. Now let’s eat. No leaven, though. Chometz out! Egyptiansz out! Hoo-boy.

WMF Report:

Early
Gulfstream 6f
Hawthorne 6f
Los Alamitos 4½f

Nocturnal Submission: Sifting through the wreckage in a failed search for the afikoman. Or something like that.

Thank you. Best wishes. Goodbye. Shantih, shantih, shantih.
