Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Looks wide-open in your Race 7 at Chas. Town. We sidestep the morning-line fave and go with the dynamite dyad of #5 Peb Hughes, #2 Greenway Court.

Yesterday’s Activity: Neil Young sang about O-hi-o. So did Chrissy Hynde. ‘Tuesday Sniping’ r(eca)ppers are doing it now. &lsquoSay-yo, say-yo, say-yO-hi-YO!’ (Hood-ornnament neckwear optional.)

So it was for your Tuesday yesterday at Mahoning Valley, thanks to the fine horseys named (Bonkersmate) Pickemuptruck in Race 2 and (Bonkersmate) Raymond’s Brew in Race 5.

First, the Pickemuptruck. The V6 Betting Line was scattered, and the Pickemuptruck received no Fair Odds; however, he was the half-ton hemi on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, 98, The Best of the West. Pickemuptruck’s complete LifeLiner array — 97-90-98 — was just about correct, and he had the lead from the second-call home, a half a length to the good while paying $32.60 up top. Pickemuptruck’s morning line was 8-1.

The 9-5 favored Burnaway was second, good on the LifeLiner, and the longshot-over-favorite exacta returned $131.80.

Over in Race 5, Raymond’s Brew operated from the opposite end, rallying from sixth-place with a furlong to go and winning by a clean nose. For once, a clean nose.

’Raymond was not loved by everybody, maybe not even his mother this time. At 10-1 on the morning line, he was 30¢ shy of 24-1 on the toteboard. From a V6 perspective, the race was completely, hellaciously contentious, and ’Ray-Ray the Bonkersmate Play was 11th of 12 on the Betting Line; however, he had that qualifying 85 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis, an 85 that was third-best in the field.

’Ray Donovan ran to his complete LifeLiner ar-RAY — 67-93-85 — fixing up the finish at $49.40-straight.

Otherwise on the afternoon, plenty of additional ugly finishes and last-place efforts. What are you going to do?
