Here’s that Ramsey strike again, starting at the 2:40 mark of the clip. Watch and learn. Hahahahahaha!

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 8, 9
Gulfstream Park Proper 1, 2, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10
Los Alamitos Thoroughbreds (Daytime) 7, 8

Pay-side: Today…

Fair Grounds 5, 7
Golden Gate 5, 6
Hawthorne 4, 8
Laurel 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9
Remington 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9
Sunland 10
Tampa 2, 5, 6, 8
Turfway 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 9

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: A couple at Fair Grounds today. Race 2 is indecipherable, but Race 8 could be a singular effort for Triple Threat Horsey #5 Anchored Back.

Yesterday’s Activity: So, do you try to beat the 7-10 shot in the 11-horse field? He might be Lure or Wise Dan, after all!

Or do you take your chances with the big Second Bonkersmate winking at 30-1 on the toteboard?

Those were the vial questions surrounding the eighth at Gulfstream Park Proper yesterday. On the one hoof, prohibitive fave Golden Rifle, odds-on was the second-ranked horse on your conventional V6 Betting Line, Fair Odds of 4½-1 in a contentious race. ’Rifle’s LifeLiner Speed Column analysis score was an acceptable 83.

On the other hoof, here was that Second Bonkersmate Shadow Rock, fifth-best on the Betting Line, no Fair Odds, but with a better LifeLiner Speed Column analysis rating, 89.

Hoo-boy. What to do?

This time, the public choice finished third, beaten almost 2 lengths by the victorious…Shadow Rock! Shadow Rock returned $62.80 to win.

These are the dilemmas we must wrestle with every day as contentious-race specialists. If, by definition, the race is contentious, then we probably are not going to have to fear any kind of overwhelming public support on the fave.

But the public is really good, especially with its odds-on horseys, who by definition win more than half the time. Is our contentious evaluation more accurate that the crowd’s hyper-valuation of its beloved favourite?

Answer that correctly time after time and win a fortune.
