Peter Gabriel Weekend concludes here, with this anti-bloat, anti-excess, anti-self-importance disco dirge. Rock on, Chaka Khan!
Free ones: Rundown…
Belmont 5
Calder 10
Santa Anita 3, 4
Pay-side: Today…
BelTerra 3, 4, 8
Golden Gate 1, 5, 6, 8
Keeneland 4, 6, 8
Turf Paradise 8
Woodbine 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11
Today’s Stakes Pageantry: #1 Slumber has the talent, so it’s mainly the layoff standing in her way in Belmont 9.
#5 Street Icon is our preference in Santa Anita 6.
On the pay-side it’s Keeneland 8 and Woodbine 6, 8, 9.
Looks wild-open in Hastings 6, and #7 Hopeseeker and #1 Dontmesswithkitten are not out of it.
Yesterday’s Activity: Some fine touting at Keeneland yesterday, specifically in the three-race sequence spanning the fifth, sixth and seventh.
In Race 5, it took six touted horseys to get to the winner, Holy Highway. Holy Highway, 20-1 on your morning line, was fifth-best on your conventional V6 Betting Line, no assigned Fair Odds, but nonetheless worthy of consideration via his excellent 97 in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis. Holy Highway won by a clean neck and paid $66-even, straight.
In Race 6, sole-touted Toni’s Hollyday, 8-1 on your morning-line, came through by a clean nose at $21-even. Toni’s Hollyday, absolute dead-last on your conventional V6 Betting Line, nonetheless qualified for consideration based on her top-ranked 90 in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis. She ran to her complete LifeLiner array of 64-70-90 to make up big ground in the lane.
The daily double in Races 5 and 6, Holy Highway ($66) and Toni’s Hollyday ($21), paid $1,098.40. The way the touting was presented, it was a 6 x 1 crisscross, 12 bucks in, $1,098.40 back in.
In Race 7, Bonkersmate Sweet Nkosi, 30-1 on your morning line, was another rallying winner, this time by half a length at $77.60 up top. Mark ’em up!
Sweet Nkosi, next-to-bottom on your conventional V6 Betting Line, nonetheless qualified for consideration based on her competitive 83 in the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis.
The daily double in Races 6 and 7, Toni’s Hollyday ($21) and Sweet Nkosi ($77.60), paid $680.80. The way the touting was presented, it was the sole-touted Toni’s Hollyday and the two-horse tandem of the winning Sweet Nkosi and top-touted Beau Ravelle. Two races, three horseys, a 1 x 2 daily double crisscross, four bucks in, $680.80 back in. Hoo-boy.
The pick 3 in Races 6, 7 and 8, Holy Highway ($66), Toni’s Hollyday ($21), Sweet Nkosi ($77.60), paid $29,654.60. The way the touting was presented, it was a 6 x 1 x 2 pick 3 matrix, 12 combos in, 24 bucks in, $29,654.60 back in.
Once-in-a-lifetime, three-race touting sequence there, absolutely. Time to retire!
For good measure, top-touted Taris won Keeneland 9 at $16, with Second Bonkersmate Sweet Whiskey completing your winning $154 Bonkers Exacta Box.
As always, hope you had ’em!
