assumption

Pray for us sinners…

Hey, Guglielmo…did you make it to Mass today? After all, it is a Holy Day of Obligation! Today, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin.

Free ones: Rundown…

Saratoga Race Course 6, 7, 8
Gulf 5, 6
Del Mar Thoroughbred Club 1, 2, 3, 4

Pay-side: Today…

Arlington 4, 7, 8
Golden Gate 2, 6, 8
Louisiana 5, 7
Monmouth 2, 10
Remington 1, 2, 3, 6, 7
Woodbine 1, 5, 9

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Several on tap up and down the continent, but we have nothing good to say. Which probably is best for everybody!

Yesterday’s Activity: And the last shall be first.

All right, all right, ya New Testament-loversz! Take it easy! In our case, we do not pretend to lay claims to any sort of spiritual enlightenment. Rather, it was the 15th out of 15 Live Longshots (so-called!) listed on the vaunted Pick of the Day page who wound up providing us salvation from total perdition.

Yea, verily, that would have been the great Second Bonkersmate Tribal Desert in the finale at the Del Mar Throughbred Club.

Tribal Desert, second from the bottom on your conventional V6 Betting Line, nevertheless was one of four LifeLiner Speed Column analysis qualifiers in the 11-horse field. At 8-1 on your morning line, Tribal Desert went off at 17½-1 in real life.

Still seventh and 7¼ lengths behind the front with just 660 remaining in the race, Tribal Desert closed like the champion he may have been on the way to becoming at one time long ago, winning by half a length at $37-even up top. Complete LifeLiner array on Tribal Desert: 64-68-81.

And since this shocker took place during the last race of the day, we are compelled to report that this was indeed one of ’em KING OF THE NIGHTCAP NETCAPPER BULLIESZ Specialsz. BULLIESZ!

As always, Welcome to The Home of The Runner-Up Finish, this time nearly led by sole-touted Bluegrass Affair in Race 4 at Louisiana Downs.

Bluegrass Affair, abjectly at the bottom of your conventional V6 Betting Line, nevertheless was the lone LifeLiner Speed Column analysis qualifier in the seven-horse field.

Bluegrass Affair, 8-1 on your morning line, went off at 20¢ shy of 32-1 and ran second, beaten 2½ lengths by the 11-10 race fave. A valiant try, given that Bluegrass Affair tried to take them coast-to-coast via her complete LifeLiner array of 82-96-95. Ah, well.

As always, hope you had ’em!
