Civic Holiday in Canada, and Canada is the hot nation right now. Between a steady middle class immune to the fluctuations of the middle classes in other countries, not to mention yesterday’s all-Canada final in the men’s tennis, plus Eugenie Bouchard on the women’s side, as well as ice hockey, curling and lacrosse, Canada is a nation holding its own while its counterparts around the globe soar and crash all around it. Mania and depression (literally!) may afflict the rest of the world, but Canada is the tranquilized exception. Good job, Canada!
#5 Aware looks the better of the co-faves in Assiniboia 6. More co-faves in Race 8 there, and #5 Balooga Bull gets the nod. However, it’s wild-open in the ninth, and we tiptoe around the fave via the esteemed threesome of #6 Storm Chance, #5 Jet Again, #2 Wilko Rum.
Now to the Left Coast and Hastings 2, in which the superior co-fave is #3 Wando Woman. Chalky in the third, though, through #3 Title Contender. Here’s #6 Quatre Cat hoping to purr in the sixth. Trying to beat the chalk in Race 7, however, with #1 Slice of Red.
