Today’s Stakes Pageantry: Big Week at Belmont begins, but all the added-money events for your Wednesday are elsewhere.

One with promise is Ind 9, the Sagamore Sired. We sidestep the top two morning-line horseys, preferring instead #3 Spanish Leather, #1 Chief Cat.

As well, Round 1 of NYC vs. L.A./LA takes place this evening here in La-La Land. Round 1A is Saturday at Elmont, N.Y., and Round 2 returns to Los Angeles. As Jim Morrison sang cheerily in his excellent, lighthearted and upbeat tune ‘The End’: Ride the King’s Highway…The West Is The Best. If you want sunny optimism, listen to ‘The End’ on a continuous loop. You’ll feel like you’re in a Francis Ford Copp— — er, a Disney’ movie.

Yesterday’s Activity: ‘Tuesday Sniping’…again!

Opener at Fairmount, raceday scratches made the race contentious, at least in terms of the conventional V6 Betting Line. Fourth-deep on the Betting Line, no Fair Odds, was the great Kodi’s April, 8-1 on your morning line.

Kod’s April nonetheless qualified for consideration due to her having the top LifeLiner Speed Column analysis number in the field, 87. No other horseys had the requisite 80-plus figure there.

Kod’s April sat just off the lead before turning it on in the homestretch, drawing away to win by 3¾ lengths at $38.40-straight.

Over to the Finger, and Race 8 was won by Wiseman’s Fate, $36-even.

Wiseman’s Fate, also 8-1 on your morning line, was accessible to all, on top of the V6 Betting Line at Fair Odds of 3-1 and with a score of 86 in the vaunted LifeLiner Speed Column analysis. Wiseman&rsuqo;s Fate went gate-to-wire, running to his complete and forwardly placed LifeLiner array of 94-86-86.

As always, hope you had ’em!
