Tuesday Sniping: Prayer of Saint Francis Edition

We are lapsed Catholics. However, some of the things we took in from that experience resonate still.

Yeah, like the latter part of the Prayer of said Saint Francis.

‘O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love.

‘For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned…’

We leave out the questionable stuff about eternal life, etc. Aside from the hocus-pocus elements of the prayer, what remains is a reasonably good strategy for hacking through this life.

Now, this is something you cannot imagine a Libertariat understanding. Randroidsz need not apply. They won’t get it. Even the so-called preachers of the so-called Prosperity Gospel might have trouble grasping it. Oh, well.
