Yesterday’s Activity: As always, Welcome to The Home of The Runner-Up Finish, this time led by top-touted Rightous Party in the 10th at Fair Grounds.
Rightous Party, 10-1 on the morning line and 11-1 in real life, actually had a clear lead all the way around, save for the final 330 feet, losing by three parts of a length at the wire. Thanks a lot!
The winner was the 2-1 public-fave, a horse who just qualified on the LifeLiner Speed Column. The saver exacta paid $71.40, for $2.
Another near-hit was endured in Race 10 at Tampa, courtesy of the second- and third-place finishers; respectively, they were the Second Bonkersmate and First Bonkersmates in the race, at 16-1 and 25-1. The second-place finisher was only a neck away from the whole shooting match. The winner was not recommendable.
