Today’s Stakes Pageantry: GP 9 on the free page. On the pay-side, it’s OP 8.

Wild Race 8 at Santa Anita, the Grade II San Pasqual. Shooting for the longshot #7 Drill this time.

Similar situation in Sun 10, the LaSenora, except the horsey’s name is #1 Zasha. Zosia Mamet.

Mild upset ready for Tam 7, the Minaret: #6 Cor Cor.

Yesterday’s Activity: Over at the Calder, Flash Encounter took the fifth at an unimpeachable 15½-1.

Flash Encounter, 10-1 on the morning line and fourth on the V6 Betting Line at Fair Odds of 6-1 in a contentious race, had one of three qualifying LifeLiner Speed Column scores in the lineup. She ran down a loose leader to prevail by three parts of a length at $33-even up top.

As always, Welcome to The Home of The Runner-Up Finish, this time led by 28-1 Palio Prince in the meet-opening race at the Oaklawn. Palio Prince was top selection on the V6 Betting Line at Fair Odds of 2½-1, and his morning line was 15-1. It wasn’t really close, with the ’Prince running second, nearly 9 lengths back. However, as the longest shot in the nine-horse field, he was best of everybody else.
