‘Swung on and missed…’

Nope. No Mike Piazza for your Béisbol Hall of Fame in 2014.

However, he should be voted in for this performance alone…

Aqueduct 4

Pay-side: Today…

Fair Grounds 1, 4, 5
Golden Gate 2, 4, 7
Laurel 5, 6

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None today, but Oaklawn opens tomorrow (temperatures permitting!) and they’ll have one.

Yesterday’s Activity: One Honourable Mention, in Race 8 at the Tampa.

First-timer and Bonkersmate Flirting Clara, 12-1 on the morning line and 36½-1 in real life, had a qualifying connections line of 17pc/12pc/17pc. She closed like the champions she’s on her way of becoming and missed by three parts of a length. The race winner, 10¢ shy of 8-1 but not touted due to a too-low 6-1 morning line, was also OK on her connection line: 17pc/15pc/14pc, and the makable saver perfecta returned $391.60. Nice save!
