Yesterday’s Activity: Aha! Another bet-down first-timer, this time in Sar 2, Broadway Music Gal, 8-1 on the morning line and a winner at $12.60 off a connection line of 21pc/16pc/10pc. Good enough! Touters!

Monmouth 8 was Do Somethin, 8-1 morning line and quite nearly that in real life, doing enough to win at $17.20. Ran to his LifeLiner array of 99-95-87 in breathing down the leader’s neck throughout.

Your In-N-Out Burger Play of the Day also was a King of The NetCapper Bulliesz special in the finale at Rexdale-Etobicoke Int’l. The aptly named Double Double (truly, though, you can easily pick up a Triple Triple or a 4×4 or Flying Dutchman or anything else from their Double Secret Probation Menu) was top of the V6 Betting Line, good enough on LifeLiner and 30-1 (30-1! let’s hear it for 30-1 on the morning line!) in the official track programme and 40-1 on the toteboard. Sometimes you have to swing out.

Double Double swallowed up the competition in the homestretch and won at a fat, tasty and juicy CA$82.30, a good price no matter the nation nor the exchange rate.

Five Guys good for tub-sized spicy Cajun fries, however. If you’re an Amurrikan like us, though, just about any burger-and-fry joint will do. For our tastes in Studio SoCal, The Counter is difficult to defeat in terms of the upscale burger market. Superior to Umami, and not only because there’s no pretensions at The Counter. Umami for hipstersz only. No good, Johnnie, no good. The Counter reserved for us salt-of-the-Planet-Earth-types. The Counter > Umami. No instagrammersz allowed at The Counter; only cow-meat loversz allowed at The Counter; hipstersz go to Umami. Stay away from Umami, Johnnie, stay away.
