Jay Leno (pronounced LEE-know), R.I.P.

His demise is well overdue. Of course, the same could be said of the great Cynthia Publishing Company! Of course, Leno (pronounced LEE-know) was still on top when he went out; Cynthia Publishing Company continues a steep, scary plunge yet remains committed to scratching its way back up the human dogpile — dogpile. How many different metaphors were in that last sentence? With us, you just never know.

Now, as for Mistah Leno, he dead. You can’t really call yourself an Angeleno until you’ve encountered him on one of the many winding and climbing canyon roads, and he’s driving one of his reclamation projects, two wheels or four. Personally, we were waiting at the excruciatingly long traffic signal at the intersection of Coldwater & Mulholland. It was a weekday, we were driving out to play tennis at some ungodly hour, between 6:30 a.m. and 7. We’re sitting there snoring in the dedicated left-turn lane and someone pulls up to our right; we turn our head that way and who else is it but — yup, you guessed it — Jay Leno, faded-blue chamois shirt, big white hair, chin jutting out, touching the dashboard, behind the spindly wheel of one of his antiques, maybe a Stanley Steamer, even. He turned to his left and there we were. He regarded us.

We glared at him for a moment and slowly turned our sights back to the windshield. We were Letterman fans.

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 7, 9
Gulf 1, 3

Pay-side: Today…

Tampa 4, 5, 6, 7
Hawthorne 8, 9
Turf Paradise 2, 8

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None on the racetrack, but the stakes are high for the Philsz. In Game 2 of the season, it’s already all hanging in the balance for them. Lose tonight, and the Hotlanta Bravos will open up a big two-game lead on them, and they will have further proven the steep, scary plunge of one Roy “Doc” Halladay. Or something like that.

Yesterday’s Activity: Yu Darvish, Madison Bumgarner, the veritable cavalcade of dominant early-season pitching performances marches on.

WMF Report:

Beulah 6f
Gulf 6f

Turf Paradise 6f

Nocturnal Submission: Night off…

Thank you. Best wishes. Goodbye. Drive safely.

I could make myself believe 4 meta-fours. but in reality none. Cynthia smelled a whole lot better once I understood what they were teaching. The instructional video pkg + the Mitchell discs changed my close mindedness. Took me 5 yrs to learn to read a Race Form and 15 yrs to find out I didn’t know how to read it!!! What chance have I got???
On a more serious note, In the archives, was an article about LIFELINE, where do I find it?: As I am to lazy to hunt & can use the neva ending excuse “2 busy”. Once the crack in the door is opened more will be revealed.
