delbarton

Ora et labora…

Benedict XVI is gone, but St. Benedict never dies.

Good place to grow up, get a solid childhood, mostly. Morris County, N.J. Plenty of rolling hills, old money and proper manners. Jockey Hollow, Tempe Wick. All that stuff.

The Benedictines were more earthy and tangible than their Jesuit brethren. The Jesuits were always more CIA than the Benedictines’s AFL-CIO. Self-sustenance. A good Roman Catholic ethos at Delbarton, not much snark. Big Tent sensibilities. Lovely place, on the road connecting Mendham with Morristown. Easier to fit in here than at Lawrenceville, those stern Presbyterians.

Free ones: Rundown…

Aqueduct 3
Gulf 1, 6, 9, 10
Santa Anita 4, 6

Pay-side: Today…

Unavailable due to technical difficulties

Today’s Stakes Pageantry: None.

Yesterday’s Activity: No good save for Lrl 4, in which Boom de Ya Da goes off slightly higher than the 8-1 morning line. A true surprise in that he’s one of those notorious Triple Threat-type horseys. Usually these are low odds, or else if they are high odds on the toteboard, it’s due to a form cloud such as a lengthy layoff. Nope. Boom de Ya Da is coming back in nine short days since his most recent start, and is a generous oversight perpetrated by the Md. faithful. Thank you. Please send more.

WMF Report:
