First Post: Sunday, November 18, 2012

Saturday, Friday, Sunday, Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday, Monday. That’s the preferred order.

Order of what? Order of enjoyment in solving The New York Times crosswordsz on any given week. Saturday and Friday are the days of complexity, of nuance and subtlety — they make you think. Sunday is a slog. It is nothing but a marathon; the themes are often forced and overwrought. The other days are straightforward. Sunday gets all the headlines, but it’s worth wagering that most puzzle-snobs (nope, we are not among them) would put both Saturday and Friday ahead of Sunday. Tyvm.
