How’d you like the scenes from Mission Control last night? Neat stuff.

Did you notice the universal embrace of congratulations or the universal embrace that says “good job”? It was the same last night at Mission Control as it is in any dugout in baseball. In baseball, when the starting pitcher’s night is over and he’s being lifted for a pinch-hitter, you see the pitcher’s teammates giving him a hug and several quick pats on the back. Well, what do you know — rocket scientists are not so far removed from their more-athletic brethren! Yup. The astrophysicists gave each other warm hugs and, yes, several quick pats on the back during the hug.

All right, all right, ya behavioural anthropologistsz!
