Your Saturday Stakes Swep: August 20, 2011

Quite competitive in the eighth at Del Mar, their Oaks, a Grade I.

We go with a Bonkers-style box-up of #9 Nereid and #2 Star Billing.

Statebred stakes action all day long over at the Louisiana Downs. Races 2 & 9, the Sprint & Turf Classic, are on the pay-side. Everything else is public domain, though, including the fourth, the Juvenile Fillies. In it, #7 Coteau Kitten emerges as a worthy fave.

Staying at Bossier City, wide-open in the sixth, the Juvenile, where #7 Bucktown is as good as any of the others. Longshot stab in Race 7, the Distaff, for #3 Rileys Monarch.

Over to Monmouth for the ninth, the Continental Mile. #7 Finale appears solid atop the morning line.

This evening at Remington, they run the Gov. Cup as Race 7. A Bonkers-style situation involves #5 Black Hills and #2 Skip a Smile.

They run the Grade I HRTV/Racing Channel Alabama today at Saratoga Race Course, Race 10. It’s available on the free page.

Extra for experts: There’s a Derby being contested today: the Grade III Canadian at Northlands, Race 11. Surprise appeal from #10 Freedoms Traveller.

Best wishes for a prosperous Saturday.
