Get up early & often for the Oceanport, N.J., action. Wow! Who went to Ontario and stole all the horsies? Dead card there at Rexdale-Etobicoke Int’l. Pretty good at Bossier City. Overall, not a very interesting Friday at the races in North America. Only three Thoroughbred races at Retama, but all of them are worthwhile.

Nocturnal Submission: Over at Columbus, Race 3 (8:22 p.m. EDT / 5:22 p.m. PDT) shows the top two morning-line choices as overhyped, leading us to promote #5 Chatham Bars to top-contender status. …Up for grabs in the fifth at Marquis (10:45 / 7:45), where #9 Time Included and #1 Stella the Grey are worth considering for your vertical exotics, at least. …Then in the finale at the Mountain (10:45 / 7:45), #6 Wyo Bandito has shown enough to warrant a second glance. …
