First Post: Saturday, July 30, 2011

Annually observed on the last Saturday of July, today is National Dance Day 2011. (U.S. only; sorry, Canada!) So enjoy this video piece about the life of one of the greatest Thoroughbreds with a terpsichorean name, Native Dancer.

Never unplaced, Native Dancer won 21 of 22! He made the cover of Time. From the great beyond, he is being called upon to resolve the continuing crisis that is the national debt ceiling standoff.

Free ones:

Saratoga Race Course 3, 5, 6
Calder 9, 12, 13
Del Mar Thoroughbred Club 2, 5, 7

The elusive Saratoga Race Course promises gratification yet again; can it deliver? Calder is rainy, but these three are a bit better than consolations. Del Mar Thoroughbred Club is the top option now.

Monmouth 4, 10, 12
Woodbine 4, 5, 7
Ellis 7, 8, 10
Arlington 5, 7, 8
Louisiana 2, 4, 6
Colonial 7, 8, 9

Excellent all day at Rexdale-Etobicoke International. Same at Colonial. Shaky a bit at Louisiana, and off the grass at Arlington.
