Your Saturday Stakes Sweep: July 2, 2011

The eighth at Belmont is the Grade II Dwyer, and it’s available on the free page.

The 10th there is the Grade II Suburban, and mild upset hopes fall to #3 Convocation and #2 Colizeo.

The 12th at Churchill is the Grade III Bashforrd Manor, and it’s hard to go against #7 Sum of the Parts.

The seventh at Calder is the J J’sdream, and you can find it on the free page.

The sixth at Hollypark is the Grade I Shoemaker Mile. In it, #1 Courageous Cat seems too tough. However, the ninth, the Grade I Triple Bend, is a different story, and maybe #1 M One Rifle can fire a better shot than many suspect.

The 10th at Monmouth is the Grade III Salvator Mile; #4 Kensei is not out of it. Wide-open in the next race, the Grade I United Nations (whither thou goest, Frantic City?), and #6 Bold Hawk can sneak into the quixotics.

The eighth at Woodbine is the Achievement, and #6 Bear’s Chill looks (frozen) solid.

The fifth at Keystone is the Peppy Addy, and the straight-up surprise goes to #5 Der Meister. Then in the eighth there, the Caught In The Rain, we prefer Dos Equis, er, we mean #4 Prize Winner.

That’s quite a bit of stakes action. Perhaps one or two of them will stick! Hahahahhaha!

Now, we shall have to split this post into two divisions, what with the late-night added-money Louisiana-bred pyrotechnics going on at Evangeline.

Until then, bye-bye. And, oh yeah, best wishes for a prosperous and safe and sane Saturday during this Independence Day weekend.
