If you’re heading out to the Santa Ana Park this afternoon for the Food Truck Festival (and the racing today is somewhat palatable, too!), this is the beverage of choice to wash it all down with.

No need to splash the cash on some overpriced chichi microbrew or go the hobo route with a plastic cup of Arcadia’s finest tap. Rather, a routine visit to your favourite convenience store, a mere 99 centavos and you’re in business!

Now, we don’t shill for just any product. Only the best of the best are worthy of our valued endorsement. In this case, all five senses are captivated during the Mountain Dew Throwback Experience. From the retro charm eye-candy of the packaging to the smoother, more satisfying finish that comes from the absence of HFCS, there’s no other sweetened carbonated drink we’d rather put in our mouths.

Woodbine opens today, and fills in for Aqueduct, which remains unplayable for the 49th consecutive day. Normally we can jiggle and shake to find a way to get three reasonably playable races from any given track. But with the Big Aqueduct, it’s just darn near impossible. Truly, it’s hard to get three decent chances per week there. Honestly. So we will broadcast Woodbine or some other hippodrome daily until this crisis is over.

The pay-side is good, as is generally the case on your weekends.
