Your Saturday Stakes Sweep: March 19, 2011

Yeah. France takes the lead. When’s the last time that happened? Militarily, they’ve been mid-pack herd runners ever since Napoleon was ruled off the grounds.

Perhaps this will be the day of even more oddities, owing to the rise of the supermoon this evening. And don’t forget the curling! We watch it for the athletic prowess on display!

Over at the Aqueduct, Race 9 is the Grade III Cicada, and it’s wide-open, truly. Take your stab now. We will try the troika of #3 Roman Treasure, #5 Quantum Miss and #4 Dream.

At Tampa, Race 9 is the Grade III eponymous Stakes. Another race in which the morning-line choice could be up against it. Hurling the following threesome to the wall and seeing what adheres: #6 Voodoo Swinge, #10 Tannersville, #5 Rahystrada.

At Santa Anita, it’s the Grade II Santa Ana as Race 7. Another vulnerable top selection from the track oddsmaker gives preference to #2 Church Camp, #5 Washington Bridge, #8 Lilly Fa Pootz.

Another contested affair is Race 5 at Turf Paradise, the Scottsdale. #3 Los Lunas (supermoon alert!), #8 Sapphirendiamonds and #1 Trick Skate.

So, some decent opportunities for your added-money events. Best wishes for a prosperous Saturday!
