Picks PPV Menu: Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010

So, our Chinese friends are creating their own award — the Confucius Prize or some-such — to protest one of their dissidents receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. This suggests a similar development for the year-end Thoroughbred honours.

But first, don’t forget to get involved with your Weekday PPV selections.

Rundown
Laurel 4, 7, 9
Hawthorne 3, 4, 9
Remington 4, 8, 10

As for the award, when (pick one: Blame / Zenyatta) is not named Horse of the Year, aggrieved fans should move immediately to create the (pick one: Blame / Zenyatta) Prize, established to “redress wrongs in the selection of year-end honors”. Should Zenyatta win the initial Zenyatta Prize, the statuette will be cast in the image of a six-year-old mare assuming the form of the Virgin Mary.

Today is Dec. 8, Feast of the Immaculate Conception!

N.B. If Blame wins the initial Zenyatta Prize, no trophy will be awarded. Thank you.
