Your Sunday Stakes Sweep: Oct. 17, 2010

The day’s looming surprise comes out of Northern California.

First, a couple of potential spoilers at Woodbine, where the Cup and Saucer Stakes goes as the eighth. Toss-up status to this race, with #7 Good Better Best up top for your V6 Betting Line and #4 Ojibway Signal entered for the upset and No. 1 for your patented LifeLiner Speed Analysis.

On to Zia for the 10th, the Permian Basin. It looks prohibitively good for everyone’s choice, #3 Fastation.

Albuquerque has a small but select field (!) in its featured eighth, the Bud Special. We fancy #2 Shivers Me, third on your morning line but stronger than that by all measures, to be a mild upsetter.

For real price promise, it’s a trip to Fresno for some raisins and fond talk of the old days back in Yerevan. (Well, maybe not the latter.) In the 10th, the Bull Dog, #3 Miami House is the track oddsmaker’s longest shot; that just doesn’t seem correct.
