Palm Sunday 2026 now, another year, another Holy Week starting today. And if you have been with this here electronic Weblog for even only one or two years, you know what that means: it’s your annual reminder to play this all-time album at full-blast all the time for at least the next seven days. Springtime, mania, depression, betrayal, torture, death — but no real hope for resurrection! Now what!

Made our first pilgrimage of the new season to the local big-league ballpark last night, and in case you missed it, a certain global fast-fashion giant has secured some unmissable naming rights to the once known uncommercially as plain-old Dodger Stadium. Guggenheim!

Thank goodness for the legitimate album-oriented-rock radio station of our childhood. The Metromedia Radio outlet in Philadelphia, FM-93.3 WMMR, sister station to the gone-but-not-forgotten FM-102.7 WNEW in New York, which was way-better than the totally overhyped other rock station in that city, FM-95.7 WPLJ, which had a playlist that basically consisted of maybe 50 or 100 songs — all the tired cliches, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, bombastic big-names, never any room for the complete spectrum of what rock could be. On the other hoof, WMMR & WNEW were able to present a reasonably eclectic roster of bands: The Police, Elvis Costello, Dire Straits, you-name-it. Graham Parker was also among those getting some spins on the air, and here’s one you could listen to on WMMR & WNEW, but never on WPLJ.

Well, it’s Opening Day for reals now, and how can you not get excited about it when this kind of thing happens for your team in their second at-bat of the season?!

Your No. London Arse had the chance to secure its first bit of hardware for nearly six years — and also embark on the first step of a magical football journey of the so-called Quadruple — in today’s English League Cup final against the perennial trophy-winners Manchester City, who in their own right were still in-line to score the Quadruple themselves. Only one team could emerge with that dream intact, and it was not The Gunners, who were pants & shambolic in a toothless display on the biggest stage. Nevertheless #COYG.

Spring equinox time today, and this is what they were up to in Mesoamerica way before the Terrible Orange Blob was made incarnate as the Second Coming of Tezcatlipoca & Xibalba etc.

Was not as hot here today in shockingly sunny Southern California; temps did not hit the triple-digit mark even once! But something that never cools down, even after all this time we were on hiatus, is the 47th President of The United States’s infernally febrile brain spasticity, possibly the effect of a long-ignored social disease contracted from some injudicious hookup with some creature much younger than himself. We report; you decide!
