Leaving this here in case history decides it should want to include this in its annals one day…otherwise, no harm, no foul!

Broad Street Babies

We already know what happened to the Phillies. And your Iggles are looking pedestrian from the top down so far in this season. (But, hey, at least they’re not Jerome Jones, Dak Prescott & The Rest of The Cowgirls!) The Sixers might finally get into the latter stages of the playoffs, thanks to the addition of Paul George and the subtraction of Tobias Harris; but they won’t start their regular season for a couple of weeks yet. That leaves us with the Flyers, and early on in the current campaign, they have looked way-better than they have shown in the past couple of years. Offering the most hope to the Delaware Valley big-league ice-hockey faithful is the presence of two Russian teenage rookies who have much talent & potential: Jett Luchanko & Matei Michkov, the latter who played last night and tallied his first two of what very well could be many NHL goals. Ladies & gentlemen, Matei Michkov…MICHKOV!

Ugha (ugha!) on yesterday’s awfully worded post. Yea, verily, many of them are awfully worded, but yesterday’s was the worst of the worst. Regrets! Tomorrow we can start the cycle of transgressing all over again, then atone in about a year from now! Hashem for the people!

Good yontiff, easy fast, etc.

For the Hebrew faithful at sundown, the Day of Atonement begins. May you be inscribed in the Book of Life now, although there are some notable late inclusions who already have been called away before the solemn observance starts tonight: Ethel Kennedy, the professional tennis career of Rafa ‘The Bull’ Nadal, the once-promising baseball season for your Philalala Phightin’ Phils, so many others…

No good for the Philadelphians today, six outs left to score at least 7 runs. No good, Chollie, no good.

To answer the question posed in yesterday’s lede, no, three outs were necessary, but not sufficient, since two runs were surrendered by the Phillies before the third out was recorded. So it went to the bottom of the ninth, tied at 6-all, an instant-win situation if the home side could convert. Scrub on over to the 14:30 mark and play to the end for the latest edition of what we’re calling The Nick Castellanos Diamond Jubilee.
