You love to see it. A couple of days & posts after hyping-up and practically pimping the great Walker Buehler, he proceeds to seal the deal and bring your 2024 big-league baseball championship back to Los Angeles. Disgraceful last night from those two Jankies athletic supporters who willfully & gleefully apprehended Mookie Betts. If you look at their fat & ugly faces, big-time glee & willfulness. Awful & disgraceful.

OK, sports fans! Your La-La Land Los Doyers are one win away from winning your 2024 World Series, and the starting pitcher (there’s that starting pitching again!) featured in today’s video lede contributed more than his fair share in helping his team secure victory in Game 3…

It always begins with starting pitching, literally, metaphorically, etc. No starting pitching, no chance to be in the ballgame. For Game 2 of your 2024 World Series, it all began with the home team, your La-La Land Los Doyers, naming MLB rookie hurler Yoshinobu Yamamoto to face the vaunted modern-day murderer’s row of your visitors, the Gotham Bomber Jankies.

Professional sports is an athletic competition. Professional sports is a business enterprise. But, most of all, professional sports is an entertainment spectacle, and nowhere else on Planet Earth can it be the kind of glaring, blaring, can’t-help-but-staring entertainment spectacle as it must be in Los Angeles, Lotusville, La-La Land. Especially on a picture-perfect, mellow-mild twilight Saturday for Game 2 of your 2024 World Series, with your sky-high palm trees and majestic Santa Monica Mountains serving as the seemingly painted-on backdrop of the immaculate Hollywood set known as Dodger Stadium: It’s a Western, it’s a beach movie, it’s a midcentury period piece with an elusive diamond-caper at its center. Athletics, yes; business, of course; but, most of all, entertainment.
