Congratulations to The Sovereignty, winner of your 2025 Kentucky Derby horserace. Too good for his 18 rivals, and much too good for us. However, there were many other races on-offer beyond this Derby, so maybe there were a few ho-hum contests to counteract THE BIG AGONY OF DEFEAT IN THE BIG AMERICAN HORSE RACE!
We put it out to the BestLine Racing Society members today: Aqueduct, Churchill, Chas. Town, Evangeline, Santa Anita, Turf Paradise. Maybe they had some of these; maybe so did you! If you did not, maybe you might have? Who knows!
Camm’ Duke won at $8.40.
Not the top pick, not even in the top 3. But My Boy Prince won at $17.60.
Deterministic won at $6.20, a veritable low-priced win overlay!
Simply in Front ran to that billing here, though perhaps not simply enough for the fans in the stands, returning $33-even up top. Next race there…
Here was another supposedly downtrodden fourth-choice, albeit pretty close in probability to the three runners ahead of him. Yea, verily, Macho Music won it for Don Trump Sr. & Your Village People Chippendale Dancers at $29.86; your winning $703.52 daily double had a premium price of $64.28. As well, your $142.50 exacta had a premium price of $71.39.
Spotted Haze won at $11.80.
Another one of ’em low-priced overlays: Austin City Girl won it for all the weekend bachelorette parties at $9-even.
A $20.40 upset for Hula Prancer. And in the Phoenix finale…(WHO NEEDS LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, ANYWAY!)
Kennebec won it for Maine’s Famous Potatoes at a tasty $19.80.
