Still getting over this Island Fever, maybe you understand how it is. At least we don’t have to worry about trying to secure a vaccination against it. MAHA: Manifesting Aloha Happiness Always!

At the start of this week, your phightin’ Philalala Phillies were facing a potentially stern test, hosting the trade-deadline-boosted American League playoff-contending Seattle Mariners for a three-game series. The teams looked evenly matched on paper ahead of Monday night’s opener, but by the time series ended this afternoon, the Mariners were the ones getting not only tested, but wholly bested, completely crested & altogether molested. It was a rout in favor of the Philadelphians, with the aggregate scoreline coming in at 29-13. Scrub-on over to the 10:24 mark of today’s video lede for the coup de gráce courtesy of your National League leader in home runs, Mistah Kyle Schwarber…SCHWARBER!

Still summer, still August, still enjoying the Executive Swimming Pool over here at the Home Office in Upper Nichols Canyon, Los Angeles, Calif., U.S.A., Earth. Which is good, since we are going to be hitting the hottest part of your year so far, tomorrow (Wednesday) through Sunday. We shall do our best to keep cool without the need for ICE. Trying to return to the workaday world here, but still fighting off some effects of extended jet-lag, lack of tropical libations & serious symptoms of withdrawing from guava & ono & Kauai shrimp, the latter two of which are the main ingredients in the dish in today’s photo lede. Those Kauai shrimp, man, not at all rubbery or bland, sweet & buttery, tender and nearly flaky, tending toward lobster! Aloha!
