Good Black Friday afternoon (PST) to yourself!
BestLine Racing Society Recap:
Some post-press-time connections coming in late in the day on your Thanksgiving Thursday: At Del Mar, Calif., Race 8 went to #6 Asada Fries (.480 Win Prob / 1.08-1 Fair Odds / 1.50-1 Premium Odds), right on the premium-price money at $5-even. Race 8 from New Orleans had #10 Sailing Solo (.183 / 4.46 / 5.56) finding safe harbor all alone in the winner’s circle at $13-even; yes, this was 12¢ shy of the premium price, but it is altogether understandable if you sacrificed those 12 centavos to the God of Doing Business via the Parimutuels and accepted 1 percent shortfall — we report, you decide! In the Etobicoke Int’l. opener, #3 Dixieribsy (.357 / 1.80 / 2.36) whistled to the win at $7.40. Then in Race 3, #6 Heezespeedy (.312 / 2.21 / 2.85) ran to that billing at $10.60.
As for today, the so-called Black Friday consumerist orgy in which we’ve all been conditioned to partake, in which all Seven Deadly Sins are eagerly and flagrantly violated at the same time, we have, in alphabetical order: greed, gluttony…er, wrong list. Let’s go with Del Mar, Fair Grounds, Golden Gate, Laurel, Tampa & Woodbine.
The Del Mar, Calif., opener went to #1 Giovinazzo (.283 / 2.53 / 3.24) at $12.60.
Race 2 at Laurel, Md., found #3 Coach Rube (.186 / 4.38 / 5.45) delivering a no-chalk talk (no-chalk talk!) at $20.20.
At Oldsmar, Fla., #9 Bohemian Boy (.169 / 4.92 / 6.10) won Race 7 for the Boii (damn you, Wikipedia!) at $15.80; your winning exacta was completed by #1 The Judge and Jury (.209 / 3.78 / 4.74), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $70.02; that comboa (comboa!) was paying $87.40 at the off, but returned only $43.40 due to a dead heat for the place — what are you gonna do? That nose could have bobbed a millimeter in the wrong direction!
