World Mental Health Day now, and the events of last night did not help the headspace today of any rabid fan of your Philalala Phillies; on the other hoof, the hardy tribe of Hotlanta Bravos supporters, well, they are ready to flush their lithium, Lexapro, Prozac, etc. down the drain! No, that’s not the spirit of the day; sorry about that. What follows here might sound trite, but, seriously, people: take good care of yourself; you’re the only one you’ve got. One of the best bits of advice we’ve heard is this: ‘STAY IN LIFE’. Translation: when the brain circuitry starts demanding its incessant need for absolute control, and you start experiencing your existence solely through thoughts & rumination & schemes & plans, take a step back, let your five senses take over one-by-one, and then let life take you over. Real life, the life outside, you know? Meantime, fair play to the Atlantans, who obviously had the necessary collective mental health to overcome the issue of trailing 4-nil to the Philadelphians. Game 3 tomorrow!
