First Post: Sunday, August 13, 2023

We had to preempt this here article on account of the amphitheater review yesterday. Still, the wonder strike shown in this video lede above, well, it might never get old — ever! In it, The Starboy of your No. London Arse, Mistah Bukayo Saka, picks up where he left off from last season, scoring this absolute beauty in the club’s 2023-24 Premier League opener, a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest at The Emirates. Come on You Gunners! #COYG!

We shall see if The Arsenal can make good on their loads of potential and promise this season after last year’s surprisingly competitive runner-up campaign to Manchester City. The squad depth has improved dramatically, especially at the back and in midfield, and the attacking strikers & wingers are as talented and quick as any other team’s frontliners. If the first-choice centre-halves, Saliba & Gabriel, can avoid lengthy injury spells, and if record signing Declan Rice can boss around opponents in the middle of the pitch the way he’s capable of, then The Gunners will be right there at the end, near the top of the table again. Will it be enough? ONLY THE SHADOW KNOWS! Meantime, chop, chop!

BestLine Racing Society Recap:

Del Mar, Ellis Park, Emerald, Louisiana, Laurel & Saratoga earlier.

Starting at Del Mar, Calif., appropriately in the opener, where #7 Bold Choice (.420 Win Prob / 1.38-1 Fair Odds / 1.86-1 Premium Odds) was perhaps a brazen play in the face of three first-time starters; the win mutuel there was $12.20. Similarly in Race 5, #9 Dr. No No (.476 / 1.10 / 1.52) had to go up against five firsters; yet if you were undeterred by all that inexperience, you got a yes-yes $5.40 mutuel. As well, completing your winning $15.80 exacta was #6 Last Call Paul (.395 / 1.53 / 2.04); the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) was $9.24.

The finale from Henderson, Ky., went to #3 Falconet (.196 / 4.10 / 6.14) at $17.12; completing your winning $115.64 exacta was #7 Hidden Connection (.170 / 4.88 / 7.24), with the premium price on that comboa (comboa!) being $101.18.

Race 4 at Laurel, Md., went to #3 Take Charge Too (.322 / 2.11 / 2.73) who ran to that billing at $8-even — one of ’em oft-remarked low-priced overlays!

Finally to Saratoga Springs, N.Y., where despite the presence of five debut issues in the nine-horse field in Race 2, #10 Dancing Spirit (.365 / 1.74 / 2.84) displayed enough quality, experienced hoofing to spook ’em at $18-even. Similarly in Race 6, #2 Zadorsky (.708 / 0.41 / 0.69) bested nine others, including seven inexperienceds, to post the $11.80 victory.
