Sorry, but when you earn your high-school diploma from a residential secondary school that was founded in 1810 in a mid-Atlantic state, you better believe that Brooks Brothers, itself founded in 1818, is going to be a big part of your experience. That’s just how it is; there but for the Grace of God and all that. So, Brooks Bros., good job. Also in the ethos of these residential secondary schools founded on the Eastern Seaboard early in the 19th Century, the following unwritten rules regarding publicity: your name should appear in print on three occasions only — birth, marriage, death. Yup, that’s it. On the other hoof, that could not have been the culture at the New York Military Academy, Cornwall, N.Y., which went bankrupt (!) in 2015.
