Virtue-signaling is hard to get right, UNLESS, of course, you’re talking about this show and its host. Probably right now, this is the only virtue-signaling that won’t face too much backlash.
You can virtue-signal with your Peak TV, your blingy celebrities, your chichi cuisine, your you-name-it politics, your retrograde grievances and your overall social-justice indignation, and when you do so, you’re likely to enrage at least 50 percent of the viewers — at least. But once you flash the Jeopardy! badge in any way, shape or form, over a single platform or on multiple layers as a viewer, fanatic or participant, it’s all over; pretty much everyone will raise their hand, stow away the anger in the keyboard and the mouse, and concede that their humanity has not entirely gone missing. We see some life in that pea-sized heart of yours! Hahahaha. Just kidding. Perhaps.
Every other type of virtue-signaling gets the shade it deserves. Well, maybe not, but we’ll always put J! virtue-signaling above all the other kinds. Thank you. Thank you, Dhruv! Thank you, Alex. Jeopardy! #1 always.
