For your La-La Land Los Doyers fans, a not-so-good contest — to use that word ‘contest’ charitably — at the Stadium last night. It was over by the first three batters, with Yelich drawing a walk directly followed by Braun lashing a double to score him.
Jhoulys Chacin (!) pitched into the sixth without surrendering a run, and then the Milwaukee bullpen lived up to its well-earned reputation for the next 3 2/3 inn., with the visitors holding firm for a 4-nil victory. For the home side, between Mannie Manchando (Manchando!) refusing to hustle, and Bellinger refusing to make contact, and Grandal refusing to catch the baseball, and K. Hernandez refusing to understand the fans’ disenchantment, there’s a bad attitude festering within Chavez Ravine right about now. The team is beginning to disintegrate.
Then again, evening-up the series with a win tonight, and maybe the gloom lifts and they turn it around. But that seems like a big ask. Nonetheless, we remain steadfast in our support for your La-La Land Los Doyers.
