Good one in Canterbury 7, in which we sidestep the first two morning-line choices and go instead with #9 Stoupinator, #4 America Mon Amie, #7 My Blue Sky, #1 Calypso Run. Next race there, #1 Waronthehomefront has a chance.

Yesterday’s Activity:

Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)

Arlington (2/2) — Publicly touted debut-issue Brave Benny had a sufficient connection-line readout of 27pc/17pc/25pc and V6 Betting Line Fair Odds of 8-1 in a contentious race; he went gate-to-wire to win by 1¾ at $21.60. Next race there, also contentious, had Dual Qualifier Stormin Elle (86, 81) not getting public touting because of a low 4½-1 morning line, but she raced forwardly throughout anyway and won by 1 at $22.60. Good work.

Arapahoe (0/0) — Rockies fall in Miami, 9-6; Nick Hundley drove in 3 runs in the loss.

Assiniboia (1/0) — Truck crashes through window of Winnipeg 7-Eleven.

Belmont (2/0) — Jankees edge host Minnesota, 7-6; Carlos Beltran, still in the league, had a 2-run HR and drove in 3 overall for Nueva Jork.

Belterra (1/0) — Reds lose in 11 at Houston, 5-4; Adam Duvall had a 2-run HR, his 20th HR on the season, for Cincinnati.

Canterbury (1/0) — See Belmont commentary.

Churchill (2/1) — Race 8 was not contentious but Bradester had a nice 83 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis for the High-Octane Chancers; he went gate-to-wire to win by half a length at $20.40. Good work.

Chippewa (0/0) — Minot P.D. begins use of body cameras on officers.

Chas. Town (2/0) — Police suspect DUI as cause of Thursday’s fatal I-81 pileup.

Delpark (1/0) — Man fatally shot in Wilmington’s East Side.

Emerald (3/1) — Race 5 was contentious, and Come On Cozzene had a sharp 89 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis; she won by 3 parts of a length at $26-even. Good work.

Evangeline (2/0) — Sunken car pulled from Bayou Tigre may help authorities in search for missing Opelousas woman.

Finger (0/0) — Man attacked in his home on Lyell Ave. in Rochester.

Fair Meadows (0/0) — 42-year-old man drowns in Lake Tenkiller at Carters Landing.

Fairmount (0/0) — Host Cards edged by Texas, 4-3; Kolten Wong, Stephen Piscotty and Yadier Molina drove in the runs for St. Louis.

Gulf (0/0) — See Arapahoe commentary.

Grants Pass (1/0) — Rte. 66 car crash in Ashland kills driver.

Hazel (2/1) — A contentious Race 5 saw Cashier Ready with a very good 89 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis; he rallied like the champion he should have been, winning by a clean neck at $29.80. Good work.

Hastings (3/1) — The finale was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers were not about to let Fourth in Command’s field-best 92 on the LifeLiner Spread Column get past them. ’Command went gate-to-wire to win by a clean neck at $22.10. Good work.

Indiana (0/0) — 2 inmates escape from the Fayette Co. Jail.

Los Alamitos (1/0) — Los Angeles bury host Oakland, 7-1; Big Time Timmy Jim Lincecum, back in the league as an Anaheim starter, pitched 6 innings for the win, his first in more than a year.

Louisiana (0/0) — Bossier City detectives nab thieves stealing copper from cellphone towers.

Lethbridge (0/0) — Brooks man charged in connection with deadly hit-and-run.

Lone Star (1/1) — Race 2 was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers found an OK 82 on the LifeLiner Spread Column on Churner, who won by 1 at $50-even. Good work.

Marquis (1/1) — Rock n’ Cat had the field-best 85 on the LifeLiner Spread Column in a contentious Race 4; he went gate-to-wire to win by 5 at $23.30. Good work.

Mountain (1/1) — Contentious finale, and Runnymede Native had the field-best 92 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis; he pretty much went gate-to-wire to win by 2 at $36.40. Good work.

Monmouth (0/0) — Mosquito killers fight off Zika at Jersey Shore.

Northlands (1/0) — One man found dead in southwest Edmonton.

PennNat (2/½) — Old-School Champeens had a nice time in Race 2, in which conventional top pick on the V6 Betting Line Mc Hottie, with no LifeLiner Backing, went gate-to-wire to win by 1¼ at $28.80. Half a get.

Keystone (1/0) — Fightin’ Phils fall again at home to Arizona, 4-1; Odubel Herrera’s HR was the extent of Philalala’s offense.

Pimlico (1/0) — Orioles beat visiting Toronto, 4-2; Jonathan Schoop and Manny Machado each had 3 hits for Balto.

Pleasanton (2/0) — Giants win at Tampa Bay, 6-4; Joe Panik had a 3-run HR and drove in 4 overall for San Francisco.

Prairie (0/0) — Iowa City man drowned in Montrose Harbor, autopsy reveals.

Ruidoso (0/0) — Cases of animal plague and tularemia in N.M.

Santa Anita (2/1) — Publicly touted Mr. Roary had a competitive 83 on the LifeLiner Spread Column in a contentious Race 6; he went gate-to-wire to win by a clean nose at $78-straight. Good work.

SunRay (2/2) — Back-to-back jacks in Races 7, 8; in the former, Sciatica had a good-enough 81 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis in a noncontentious race. High-Octane Chancers took the chance and got a 1½-length win and a $45-even mutuel. In the latter, the best experienced runner in the field, El Tule, had the requisite score (83) on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis and won by 3 parts of a length at $28.80. Good work.

Thistle (1/0) — Indians demolish visiting White Sox, 13-2; Tyler Naquin went 3-for-3 with 4 RBI.

Woodbine (2/1) — Publicly touted Elgin was good for Old-School Champeens, High-Octane Chancers and Progressive-Minded Eggheads alike in Race 4: top of the Betting Line at Fair Odds of 3½-1 in a contentious race, and with a field-best 84 on the LifeLiner Spread Column analysis. Woodbine (1/1) — Publicly touted Viva Nevada barely qualified for consideration via her skimpy 81 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis in a contentious finale; she rallied like the champion she’s on her way to becoming, winning by 4¼ at $43.60. Good work.
