Ah, it’s all gone pear-shaped for Arsène & The Lads. Many Arse fans are shaking their fists to the sky and grumbling, ‘Utter tosh!’

Fair Grounds (2/1) — Nightcap winner Harry Long Legs, $20.40, did it in a noncontentious race but with a second-best 84 on the LifeLiner Speed Column analysis; High-Octane Chancers brought this one in.

Fonner (2/0) — Nebraska men’s hoopball final record: 16-18.

Golden Gate (2/0) — Cal still projected as a 5-seed.

Gulf (4/2) — $13k late pick 3 within reach for the High-Octane Chancers. In the opening leg of it, Race 10, publicly touted Second Bonkersmate had the top LifeLiner Spread Column analysis rating in the field (81), and accordingly he went gate-to-wire to win by a clean neck at $63.40 — mark ’im up! In Race 11, Old-School Champeens were not going to be bamboozled by the lack of LifeLiner backing numbers on Miss Matzoball; after all, she was top of the classical V6 Betting Line in a textbook contentious race, at Fair Odds of 2½-1, and she won at $20.20. Half a get. The other half-a-get came in the finale via Forced Motion, who was a firster without a Betting Line in another contentious race; nevertheless, his connection-line readout of 17pc/14pc/18pc was going to require extra scrutiny, especially at real-life odds of 31-1, and he came through at $64.40. With a little cunning and a little daring from the best of the Old-School Champeens and the best of the High-Octane Chancers, the $13k late pick 3 was not altogether farfetched. As always, hope you had any part of it.

Hawthorne (1/1) — Publicly touted Second Bonkersmate I’m Old School (as in, ‘Old-School Champeens!’) did the business in Race 6 at $24.80. I’m Old School squeaked by with an 80 in the LifeLiner Spread Column and just got past the odds-on fave to win by 1.

Los Alamitos (1/0) — USC figures to be a mid-level seed.

Laurel (5/2) — Bookends at Laurel. In the opener, Flash Heart was your winner at $56.60; wild-open race, wild-open, and Flash Heart had the barely passing 80 in the LifeLiner Spread Column. It was good enough, and he went gate-to-wire to win by three parts of a length. In the finale, Eyerish Inspired, $21.40, was a first-timer top-ranked on the Betting Line at Fair Odds of 2½-1, connection-line readout of 12pc/16pc/15pc. Neither winner was going to be much of a problem for any sort of V6 longshot aficionado.

Mahoning (0/0) — Slick Hillie drinks a Guinness in Youngstown. Citizen Bernie enjoys bagels and schmear in Shaker Hts. Well, not really on the second one. Not yet.

PennNat (1/0) — Philanova denied Big East tourney crown; Philalala Flyers get 1 pt. against Panthers but fall in shootout, 5-4.

Santa Anita (2/0) — Kings lose in OT to visiting Devils, 2-1; Anze Kopital had the lone Los Angeles goal.

Sunland (0/0) — N.M. State Aggies look like a 15-seed these days.

Tampa (2/½) — Import winner Baciami Piccola had the right connection-line readout (16pc/16pc/36pc) in a contentious race. However, she was buried a little far down the Betting Line for sober consideration — unless, of course, you were one of ’em High-Octane Chancers.
