Today’s Stakes Pageantry: No advisories this afternoon. Regrets!
Yesterday’s Activity:
Track (Win Mutuels $20+/Gettable)
Aqueduct (1/0) — Blueshirt Rangers get another No. 1 Star of the Game performance from King Henrik of Lundqvist, beat host Dallas, 3-2.
Chas. Town (2/1½) — Contentious race in the third, and Hardened Wildcat had a sufficient 82 in the LifeLiner Speed Column; ’Wildcat won at $36.40. In Race 8, Fairly Lovely was third on the contentious conventional V6 Betting Line, Fair Odds of 6-1, and won at $20.20. However, ’Lovely had no LifeLiner numbers supporting her Half a get.
Delta (3/2) — Race 5 found Prince Art coming in at $43.40. ’Art was not fancied in a noncontentious race; nevertheless, he did have the top LifeLiner Spread Column number (86) in the field, and High-Octane Chancers were rewarded with this 20-1 gate-to-wire narrow — by a clean nose! — stunner. In Race 7, the experienceds were of a contentious sort, and Choicey was no worse than any of the rest, especially via her good-enough 80 in the LifeLiner Spread Column. Result: a $33-even win mutuel that did not require any High-Octane Chanciness.
Fair Grounds (2/1) — A truly contentious race in the ninth, and publicly touted Hail to the Nile was the third of seven listed horseys. Hoo-boy. No matter. ’Nile was one of ’em Dual Qualifiers, scoring 91-89 in the LifeLiner Speed Column and LifeLiner Spread Column analyses, respectively. The winner paid $25.80.
Golden Gate (1/1) — Publicly top-touted Land of Oz won the finale at $67.60. Hard to understand the high odds, though. First, the race was contentious. Next, the LifeLiner Spread Column ratings were all of the moderate variety: none of the eight runners could budge from the 70s, and second-best in this regard, at 77, was ’Oz. He won by half a length at 20¢ shy of 33-1. Mark ’im up!
Gulf (1/0) — Luongo surrenders shootout winner, Panthers fall to host Columbus, 4-3.
Sam Houston (1/0) — Rockets fall below .500 in 104-94 home loss to San Antonio; James Harden had 27 for the losers.
Los Alamitos (2/1) — Race 2 had A P Devil winning at $25.80. The race was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers would have grown wide-eyed at the gaudy 98 in the LifeLiner Spread Column.
Mahoning (0/0) — See Gulf commentary.
Oaklawn (1/0) — Dusty Hannahs scores 17 in Razorback men’s basketball win over host Tennessee.
PennNat (2/1) — The opener was won by the aptly named Doctor Action, $28.60. This race was not contentious, but High-Octane Chancers would have picked up on the adequate 83 in the LifeLiner Speed Column for The Good Doctor. Herr Doktor!
Keystone (1/1) — Welcome back, Keystone! Thank you for returning! The aptly named Hold Everything shocked Race 6 at $111.40. On the V6 output, the race was contentious, and Hold Everything squeaked by with an 81 in the LifeLiner Spread Column. Hold Everything went gate-to-wire to win by 4 at 30¢ shy of 55-1. As always, hope you had ’em!
Santa Anita (0/0) — Jhonas Enroth stops all 23 Buffalo shots and Tanner Pearson scores both goals in Kings’ 2-0 home win.
Sunland (1/0) — UNM Lobos men’s basketball drops 92-82 decision to visiting Fresno State; Elijah Brown scored 41 in the loss.
Tampa (2/1½) — Race 7 winner, the debuting Amnicalola, was not touted, owing to a noncontentious scenario. But the connection-line numbers (20pc/25pc/N/A) would have been sufficient for the High-Octane chancers. Later, the 11th found Going Bold winning at $20.80; she was not touted because of a low morning line: 5-1. But ’Bold was second-best on LifeLiner Speed, 81. Good enough.
Turfway (2/0) — Hoo-boy. No. 16 Kentucky suffers its eighth loss of the season in a 74-62 road defeat to Vandy. Jamal Murray poured-in 33 points for the ’cats.
Turf Paradise (0/0) — Coyotes lose in Philly, 4-2; Oliver Phoenix’s Ekman-Larsson scored his 19th goal of the season.
